Step 1 Introduction

HOW IS THIS WEBSITE DIFFERENT?

Since there are thousands of websites devoted to job search or career management, why should you spend time on this one? Answer: Our 14 years of experience in helping job seekers is now distilled into a proven 4-step process that we offer FREE to job seekers. You’ll get a complete set of tools and templates to market yourself effectively.

In working with job seekers (since 1994) we have found that the successful ones are disciplined, follow the suggested process (to a fault), are goal-focused, and are constantly seeking to learn from their mistakes. Each day they aim to attack the challenge of a job search just a little bit better. They work on their resume, their web presence, role play the interviews, train their voice and maintain a focused and upbeat attitude. From these observations we have created a 4-step process as illustrated below to help you succeed in planning and executing a job search or career transition: (click on the image to enlarge it)

Be honest in assessing your strengths and weaknesses. Once you complete the first step, you should have a better idea of (a) the Job or Career targets, (b) Your temperamental fit for the target position, (c) Your gaps in terms of work to be done on your resume, cover letters, your knowledge of how to search and apply for jobs online, building and leveraging a network, and in terms of skills and knowledge for the target job positions.
